Position: Release Manager
Summary
The person in this role will own and evolve the release management process and be responsible for managing individual releases across projects.
The release engineer will work closely with the
· Development team to understand the requirements for specific releases.
· QA team to define and plan the content of each release.
The person in this position is expected to work independently with minimal management direction.
Responsibilities
· Plan and coordinate Build and Release schedules.
· Create releases in source control and conduct build verification and validation.
· Create and communicate Release documentation.
· Participate in build and deployment actives.
· Act as the final decision maker on application readiness for user acceptance/production.
Experience
· Should be experienced in handling and managing build processes.
· Minimum 10 years experience in software design, release engineering and deployment.
· Minimum 5 plus years of Java code development or deployment experience.
· Subversion experience in UNIX environment required.
· Familiarity with bug tacking tools like JIRA.
· Must have worked with at least one leading J2EE application server (IBM WebSphere, BEA Weblogic etc).
· Must be familiar with Perl, Maven.
· Must have worked with at least one leading RDBMS (Oracle, DB2 etc).
· Unix experience is a must for this position.

Qualifications
